At the center of the flower is a darker eye, which is present on both the petals and petaloids. The darker eye also continues along the petals and petaloids as a dark picotee. Surrounding the picotee edge is a second gold edge, which is typically bubbly, with hooks and knobs. The petals and petaloids are also very ruffled and crimped. The flowers appear atop strong, nicely branched scapes. The overall effect is very showy.

**[(Gavin Petit) x (Moment In The Sun)] x (Gary Colby x Cape Breton) Sev. 6.5" fl. 26" sc. M 20 buds. **Looking for a bold statement in the garden? Hidden depths has it all. These are large, beautiful purple flowers with an extremely ornate gold edge. The petals are very wide, with a lighter watermark surrounding a green throat. The color varies through the season from a medium purple to a dark lavender. The gold edge is heavily ruffled and pleated, in what seems to be a piling up of large clusters of gold nuggets. The fertile plants are the parent of many of my future introductions. These flowers can be shocking.
