Mid Winter Symposium 2019
Great news for anyone who did not get to attend the Region 10 Summer Meeting in Chattanooga, Tennessee! The search committee for the 2019 MWS looked at several hotels in Kentucky and Tennessee. The hotel that was selected is the Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green, Kentucky from Friday, February 8, 2019 to Sunday, February 10, 2019.
This is newly renovated with updated conveniences such as Keurig coffee machines and refrigerators in each room. We will have a large enough banquet room to host the speakers both days and have a leisurely evening meal on both Friday and Saturday nights. We will have a Hospitality Room designated for the Wineception and get together both nights after the meetings end. You will get vouchers for two breakfasts for each night stay of your weekend (example: for Saturday and Sunday mornings). The cost is $125.00 (plus tax) per night and no charge for parking! We will get the registration forms out as soon as the speakers and each day’s lineups have been finalized. We fill that you will truly enjoy your stay at this hotel venue. If you would like to plan the weekend now, you can call the hotel direct at 270-745-0088 or at 1-800-HOLIDAY (no later than 1/9/19) and mention block code AH2 to get in on the rooms that are set aside for this event. Watch for information to be online soon and coming in the next Daylily Appeal.
If I may also be so bold to ask, if anyone is coming from the Nashville area, would you be so kind as to consider to pick up a speaker from the airport if it would be needed to help defray the cost of transportation to the MWS in Bowling Green from Nashville? If this is something you might be able to do, please call me at 502-239-8963.
Helpful hint: If you need something to give to a daylily nut for Christmas, or a birthday, or an anniversary, or any other event, consider giving them the gift of a registration to MWS.
Another thing to add is that we now have the credit card reader for auction nights (since the Summer Meeting this year) in case you did not know! This will be used at the auction sales event.
If you have any questions about the hotel, please contact Chris Schardein at 502-239-8963.
