CORONATION DREAM
Display Only
**[Gary Colby x Denali] Sev. 6.5 - 7" fl. 27" sc. M 20 buds. **Coronation Dream is by far the most sophisticated and commanding double flower that I know. The blooms are a soft baby ribbon pink, with both the petals and sepals surrounded by a pronounced gold edge. The flowers are extremely large, especially for a double flower. Add to this blooms that are both consistently and fully double, and are on tall, very sturdy scapes, and you have a very powerful display of massive pom-pom blooms. From a simple cross, these flowers got the huge size from both famous parents, along with sophistication and ornate gold edging covering the flower. Coronation Dream is is destined to be a star.
COUNT DRACULA
Display Only
2011 [(Fortunes Dearest x Barracuda Bay) x (Mort Morss)] x (Larry’s Obsession) Sev. 5.5" fl. 24 " sc. Early 20 buds. Easily fertile both ways. The flowers of Count Dracula are a dark, near black purple with an even darker eye that streaks toward a green throat. The petals and sepals are heavily edged in highly contrasting white teeth. The teeth are so wide that they come together to make a broad white border. The plants begin to bloom early, making a showy start to the season. The cold hardy plants have excellent rust resistance. The plants are small by nature, but are wonderfully proportioned with the flower size and scape height. A great parent for near black flowers with wide white edges and shark teeth.

DIANA CULBERTSON
Display Only
2011
(Fine French Porcelain x Full Circle) Sev. 6 - 6.5" fl. 25 - 27" sc. M 20 buds. Fertile both ways. The self color of Diana Culbertson is a soft cream pink accentuated with a deep green throat. The flowers picked up the soft pink color from Fine French Porcelain, and the heavy substance and amazing fullness from Full Circle. The form of the flowers is exceptional, with extremely wide, overlapping petals. The petals are also deeply ruffled with a gold edge. What makes the flowers stand out so much in the garden is their large size, impeccable form and extremely heavy substance. The blooms look like they would weigh five pounds. The plants have average to good rust resistance and are cold hardy. Very highly recommended!

EARL OF ESSEX
Display Only
2011 (Gary Colby x Cape Breton) x (James’s Prissy Kristi) Dor to Sev. 6.5 - 7" fl. 28-29" sc. M 25 buds. These medium purple flowers make a strongstatement in the garden, with their large size and heavy gold edge. The blooms have a lighter watermark and green throat. James’s Prissy Kristi was a very important parent for increased size and heavy gold to chartreuse edging. Earl of Essex is an improvement in having clearer, stronger color. The plants are a true middle of the road semi-evergreen, remaining evergreen to semi-evergreen in warm winters, but going fully dormant in cold winters. Despite their semi-evergreen to dormant nature, they are strong, vigorous growers, making big, healthy plants in Florida. The cold hardy plants have very good rust resistance and the flowers are fertile both ways.

2011 (Spectacle of Wealth x Alexa Katherine) Sev. 6-7" fl. 24-27" sc. M 15-20 buds. Fertile both ways. The flowers have been a favorite from their maiden bloom. The rose red blooms have a large green throat and wide, ruffled gold edges. The ruffles go almost all the way to the midrib. What makes the flowers even more interesting is that the color slowly intensifies as it moves toward the petal edges, or bleeds as it approaches the throat. The plants have good rust resistance and are cold hardy. Truly unique and distinctive.
EVERYTHING YOU DESIRE

Petit, 2010
**(Dancing With Julie x Electric Red) Sev. to Dor. 6.5" fl. 25" sc. M 15-20 buds. **The flowers of Everything You Desire are a cranberry rose with a lighter watermark above a green throat. The fertile blooms are surrounded by a very ruffled, pleated edge, and a white wire edge. The flowers are further accented by very wide sepals. Larry Grace stopped me at Everything You Desire, and after admiring it, he said “Ted, that’s a very important daylily." The cold hardy plants of Everything You Desire have a lot of dormancy in them, going completely dormant in cold winters. However, they make strong, vigorous plants in north Florida. These large flowers glow in the garden.
